The Pleasant Hill Chicks climbed aboard the struggle bus early in the weekend at the MSHSAA Class 2 final four. They took on the MICDS Rams in the state semi-final Friday and lost the match, 3-0.
The Chicks rebounded in the 3rd place match on Saturday vs. the Perryville Pirates. Goals by Chaney Gray and Ava Rogers helped drive the Chicks to a 2-0 victory and their second 3rd place state finish in five years (one year being "the Covid season" and not getting to participate). The Chicks have participated in six straight quarterfinal matches with four straight trips to the final four.
Congratulations to Head Coach Nicole Ortiz, assisted by Edson Ortiz, and the Chicks soccer team on an outstanding 18-6 season. They are the last public school standing in class 2 in '22!
